Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira passed a medical exam with AC Milan on Saturday and is close to signing with the team.
Milan moved to sign Oliveira from Real Betis after talks to acquire Ronaldo from Real Madrid failed.
Milan is seeking a striker to replace Andriy Shevchenko, who left for Chelsea.
The 26-year-old Oliveira joined Betis from Valencia in 2004 and was the team's leading scorer in his first season with 22 goals. He moved to Sao Paulo on loan in April to aid his recovery from a serious knee ligament injury and recently returned to Spain.

Well it looks like one Brazilian stiker in and one heading back home!!
With Sevilla's forward Ricardo Oliveira has finally joined Milan AC after rumours sending him to Fenerbahe, Manchester United or Lyon.
The 26-year old player who finished the last season at So Paulo FC has signed a 5-year contract with the Italian club.
At the same time, the Swiss player, Vogel leaves Milan to Betis.
Ricardo Oliveira will replace another Brazilian, Marcio Amoroso who arrived in Milan last January. The former Borussia Dortmund and So Paulo forward should join Corinthians according to the Brazilian club after having terminated amicable his contract.

Another player's kin's been kidnapped, with Ricardo Oliveira's sister the latest victim. Doesn't seem there's much being done about the spate of kidnaps.
