AC Milan's been cleared to play in this edition, but Uefa's apparently not happy about it saying the club exploited some loopholes in the rules and warned the rossoneri they won't hesitate to intervene the next time the club's suspected of fixing a match.

Well if Uefa aren't happy about AC Milan being aloud to play in the tournament then why don't they pull them out?!

Uefa claims it's lack of evidence in finding proof to pull them out. Probably Berlusconi's guys cleaning it up for the club.

Well for their current team, a UEFA Cup place could be a good achievement.

I'm feelin' it's Real Madrid's year.  My team FC Bayern-Munich (I also love Heart of Midlothian FC) has it's work cut out this year in the post-Ballack period.  Bremen may get the Bundelsia for Deutschland but Real Madrid has gotten some strong players this season and so may go one to get the title.  Very early speculations .........we'll see.

Hearts vs AEK Athens.......

Didn't have high hopes on this one for several reasons (injuries and playing on substitute field) definetly a "Heart" breaker.

I was crying in my seat at Murryfield when the second goal went in! I couldn't believe it was a total shock. Berra must be really gutted!

It's easier said than done my friend! 2 goals IS all we need and i am 100% behind hearts but it wasn't looking good lastnight at all!

Karipidis one of our new signings was playing lastnight and although i can't comment on his performance as it was his debut game, the boy needs to communicate with his team mates he took Miko out in the first half going for a header that Miko was going! Valdas had him playing out of position aswell, he is a central defender but Valdas had him in Midfield!

If it wasn't for Craig Gordon our goal keeper we would have had alot more goals scored against us lastnight! He has proved with the quality saves he made that he is truely a brilliant goal keeper!

Berra had a great game also, apart from he miss directed clearence, was a real shock and the dissapointment on the lads face was terrible.

I am actually looking forward to the away leg and hope to god we can do something over there, no Scottish team have ever beaten AEK on there home soil and i think Hearts might be the team to break the cycle.

MON THE HEARTS!

Well, Milan and the Liverbirds have work to do with their slender first-leg advantages, while Levski Sofia's looking to score one for Bulgaria by reaching the group stage. Huntelaar continues where he left off, scoring both of Ajax's goals. Fabregas also among the outstanding performers for this week.

I watched the game Milan - Red Star .... It was very good game. Red Star also had couple of chances and Milan too. It will be hard for Milan to play in Belgrade before some 80 000 Red Star fans. We are yet to see Zigic score. He surely can score against Italians which he proved last year against Roma and he promised 2 goals against Milan.
He had one great chance which some more experienced player would put it into the goal.

Did you get to catch the return leg though, s-maniac? Must've looked pretty entertaining by the looks of it.

The Liverbirds are through drawing 1-1 in Kiev, fellow former winners Benfica and Hamburg also through beating Austria Vienna 3-0 and drawing Osasuna 1-1 respectively with the Germans sneaking on aways.

Hoo, Barca and Chelsea again. They really must have a thing for each other Tongue

Gp B's looking pretty nice, wonder if Spartak will end up being the whipping boys again.

As for Gp C, any one of Bordeaux, Gala and PSV could follow the Liverbirds out of it.

Valencia and Roma are looking like the faves for Gp D's qualification, but SHakhtar could end up scoring one for Ukraine here.

Real Madrid would definitely want to avenge the humbling they got by Lyon in the same stage last season, with another old friend in Dynamo and Steaua are not to be taken lightly as well, considering their showing in the Uefa last season.

I once remarked that it'd be crazy if ManU got Benfica again and I practically chuckled when that happened. The Devils' games with Celtic will be really good and Copenhagen could also pose problems, considering who they beat to get here.

Gp G could be another open one, with last season's runners-up, a former Uefa Cup winner and two former winners in this one.

Milan's group's looking like the easiest of the eight, just a question of which of AEK and Lille looking to follow them out.

Luck of the draw, I guess. Just as well since Lyon's the toughest opponent in that group. Looks like my Devils have a good chance of leaving the group, having Benfica at the last round, only it's at Old Trafford this time.
