So, Ronaldo just broke the World Cup scoring record. He scored 15 goals so far, and he's still counting. I can find plenty of news articles, blogs, and commentaries criticizing (current) Ronaldo, but given the record, is he the greatest striker ever lived???

Yep and his record goal was superb. He shut the mouths to all of us who were kind of sceptical towards him. It is clear difference between him and the other guy who got the yellow for diving and not scoring ... buahaha
GO RONALDO ... it seems he is still big for all the rest...I mean Ronaldinho still means small Ronaldo Menthol Cigarettes

He scored 3 goals so far, and David Villa and Fernando Torres are out of the top scorer competition as Spain lost today. He has a fair chance of becoming the top scorer again ...

Ronaldo has served Brazil very well in his 12 year career with the Selecao!! His 67 goals in 103 games is nothing to sneeze at!! He needs 10 more goals to tie and 11 to pass Pele again!!
SOME HAVE WON 1,2,3,4 WC'S.. BUT ONLY 1- 5.....BRASIL!!! GO GET THAT HEXA IN WC'10!!

Can he do that? If he doesn't retire from international for a while, then he can, but ... I wonder what he plans to do after this World Cup.

Ronaldo will be 30 this year!! I dont see him retiring anytime soon, if those knees still can hold up!! While WC'10 may be a long shot for him..I do see him playing in Copa'07 and I feel he will pass Pele's record!!

He's definately one of the greatest strikers; recently I saw some compilations of him on Youtube...the skill speaks for itself
Happy B-Day Ronaldo! (Even though it was yesterday...)

Yes i reckon he IS the greatest player in the world, but not of all time.
There are others like Zico and Eto'o.
Bit really is A very very good player, yhough he has to lose a bit of weight.
Oh yeah and happy birthday to him!
My fav player is Ronaldinho!!!
In the Aussie Soccer team, Harry Kewel!!!
Please just try this game and sign up please?
Say your referer is either Redgar, or japer2000.
Please???

RDinho,
I'm sorry but I wouldn't rate Zico or Eto'o to Ronaldo!! Zico might go down as one of the most gifted midfielders Brazil ever produced, but.....HE NEVER WON ANYTHING FOR BRAZIL!!
While Eto'o has along with Ronaldo has won something for club and country he has some way to go before he can knock "El Phonomem" of his perch(overweight and all)!!

RE: Ronaldo, the greatest striker ever lived ...?
Ronaldo is a great striker but I do not think that he is better than Pele.i think that he should not have left Barcelona as he was terrific with them.
it is with Barcelona that he was revealed to the world.
