South Americans only won World Cup in America expect for two occasions, WC Sweden and WC South Korea and Japan.  Europeans only won World Cup in Europe.  WC will be held in African continent for the first time in 2010; no offense to Asians, but there are real competent contenders in Africa while there wasn't any real competent contender in Asia (in 2002).  Are we finally going to see African nation's lifting that golden trophy in 2010? purchase Ritalin 10mg

Nah, but maybe one of the Africans can pass Cameroon and Senegal's record for the best showing by an African team in a WC. South Korea got to the semis of 2002 by fluke.

Ok, ... but wouldn't you agree that they wouldn't have progressed to the semi-final if they didn't host WC in South Korea?

Yep, it's mainly about the money in the Koreans' case.

Hmmm ... well, not a big fan of South Korea, but I don't subscribe to the conspiracy theory.  Quarter final match was a bit questionable, but I thought that they won the match against Italy deservedly.  Even if the ref handed the win to South Korea in the quarter-final, getting there was a major achievement ...

Yeah, statistically speaking, it'll be difficult for them to win either of the next two WC.  Supposedly, more WC will be held outside of Europe in the coming years, so I wonder how that'll affect Europeans' performances.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter said that he will visit South Africa shortly to urge lawmakers to speed up building work for the 2010 World Cup, amid growing concern about delays.

Blatter said he would meet South African President Thabo Mbeki and make an appeal to the country's parliament "to explain the value of the World Cup and to fire up the organising committee, because it's the last moment to start building five stadiums.

"For the moment they have plans, money, and decisions, but I have yet to see the pickaxes and spades needed to start the work," he told journalists after a meeting of world governing body's executive committee.

A FIFA spokesman was unable to give a date for the planned visit by the delegation from world football's governing body.

Blatter hoped that the work would get underway before the end of the year, and said the South Africans had to be trusted.

The FIFA chief also advised the South Africans not to take up offers of help from British, French, German, or other experts involved in organising previous World Cups.

"If there are too many cooks, it spoils the broth," he commented.

Senior municipal officials in the nine cities which are to host the 2010 World Cup accused the South African government and lawmakers last month of hampering their preparations.

The officials told a parliamentary committee they were still in the dark about the amount of money they would receive for the tournament.

They also complained that legislation on tendering contracts threatened to derail their organisation efforts.

My favorite will be Brazil. The world cup will not be held in Europe and Brazil has lost the previous ones.
They have so great players and they could win all world cups if only they could play and not relax themselves on the pitch.

I hope that an African team will win it.Or at least make it to the final.I have been impressed by the Ivory Coast in the last world cup and I hope that they will be able to do better this time.

I don't know, but it sure is not going to be Italy again. They cheated their way to win that cup. Who knows, it could have been the Italian mafia that payed fifa to let them win. Hopefully it will be Mexico this time now that they have a new coach, Hugo Sanchez. Maybe it will be Portugal, Germany, Brazil, or hopefully a country that will represent all of Latin America!
